Am I a Christian?
What makes someone a Christian? Some argue that simply being born into a Christian culture or community means that they are a Christian too. Others might say that if they have been christened, baptised or followed through some other appropriate ritual, this will have made them a Christian for life. Many though would say that it requires some measure of conscious choice, and an ongoing commitment to a Christian community, while seeking to put into practice the key teaching of the faith.

God's word tells us not to judge people, so we do not want to use these pages to declare anyone to be or not to be a Christian. You might though, be able to judge yourself. To help you, here are some things you could usefully reflect on:

Are you aware of being in a living relationship with God through His Holy Spirit?
Do you consider yourself to be part of a regular worshipping community of Christian believers?
Are you seeking to live a life which follows Jesus and strives to be like Him?

If you are struggling to respond positively to at least one of these questions, then it might be helpful for you to contact a local Church or Christian leader, to chat this through. People discover and live their faith in many different ways - that's why it may be best to engage with this question face-to-face rather than seeking a pre-defined answer. But be sure of this - God welcomes and affirms anyone who is serious about seeking to follow Him.
